5.4 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Philippines

Manila: An earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale struck Mindoro province of Philippines on Saturday. morning. The quake took place at 21km northeast of Looc town, around 4.06 AM (Local Time).

A senior official told Manilla Times that the quake was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 12 km. He added that although there was no threat of tsunami and damage was not expected, aftershocks were still possible.
