5 DSPs, 153 SIs Pass Out Of Biju Patnaik State Police Academy In Bhubaneswar
Bhubaneswar: The convocation ceremony of 7th batch of DSP (probationer) and 11th batch of sub-inspector (SI) of police was held at the Biju Patnaik State Police Academy in Bhubaneswar on Thursday.
Director General of Police (DGP) Sunil Bansal attended the passing out ceremony of the successful police officers. He handed over certificates to 5 Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and 153 Sub-Inspectors (SI) and medals to meritorious trainees.
Speaking on the occasion, Bansal said it is expected of the officers to work with sincerity and honesty in providing security to the common people, society and nation at large. He advised them to deal with the victims with sympathy and compassion even in adverse conditions.
“You have undergone rigorous training in law, physical fitness, ethics, human rights and gender sensitisation keeping your future responsibility in view. You will be assigned field posting at police stations and outposts to have first hand knowledge about the police administration. I hope you will come out successful in your future assignments,” the DGP said.
Stating that Maoist activities have come down due to operations against them by the police and security forces, he told the officers to win over the local people in Left wing areas to prevent the banned outfit to spread its wings.
He further said the Academy has emerged as an ideal training centre in the country and several police officers, who have passed out from the institution, have excelled in their duties. It won Home Minister’s trophy as the best police training academy in the country in 2020-21, he added.
