5 Odisha Hockey Players Among Probables For FIH Men’s Series Finals 2019
Bhubaneswar: The Indian Men’s Hockey team arrived in the Odisha capital on Sunday for the Senior Men’s National Camp at Kalinga Hockey Stadium, beginning on Monday (March 20).
The Hockey India has picked 32 players for the camp to prepare for the upcoming FIH Men’s Series Finals 2019, starting on June 6. Among them are five players from Odisha -Birendra Lakra, Ashish Kumar Topno, Amit Rohidas, Shilanand Lakra and Neelam Sanjeep Xess.
Hockey India has retained all the 18 players of the Indian Team that took part at the recently concluded Australian Tour.
The players for the camp are:
Goalkeepers – PR Sreejesh, Suraj Karkera and Krishan Bahadur Pathak
Defenders – Harmanpreet Singh, Birendra Lakra, Surender Kumar, Amit Rohidas, Varun Kumar, Rupinder Pal Singh, Gurinder Singh, Kothajit Singh Khadangbam, Nilam Sanjeep Xess, Jarmanpreet Singh
Midfielders – Manpreet Singh, Sumit, Nilakanta Sharma, Jaskaran Singh, Hardik Singh, Vivek Sagar Prasad, Ashis Kumar Topno, Sayyad Niyaz Rahim, Rajkumar Pal
Forwards – Mandeep Singh, Akashdeep Singh, Shilanand Lakra, Gursahibjit Singh, Shamsher Singh, Armaan Qureshi, Sumit Kumar, Simranjeet Singh, SV Sunil and Gurjant Singh
