Uttarkashi: At least five passengers, mostly tourists, died and two others sustained injures after a helicopter crashed near Ganganani in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. The helicopter was carrying a total of seven people. It was flying to Gangotri Dham.
Administration and relief teams were engaged in rescue works on Thursday at the helicopter crash site.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami shared the news on social media. He expressed condolences to the victims’ family. “May God grant peace to the souls of those who died in the accident and give strength to the bereaved families to bear this immense loss,” he wrote on X.
Dhami had also asked the administration to provide all possible help to the injured. He has also asked them to investigate the accident.
