Bhubaneswar: In a proud moment for Odisha, several scientists and researchers from the state have earned spots on Stanford University’s prestigious ‘World’s Top 2% Scientists’ list.
The list, compiled by Stanford University in collaboration with Elsevie, recognises influential researchers based comprehensive research metrics, including citations, h-index, co-authorship, and a composite indicator known as the c-score, which accounts for both career-long and recent research performance.
The featured researchers include 20 from SOA University, 18 from NIT Rourkela, 6 from KIIT, two each from IISER Berhampur, OUAT, OUTR, and Sambalpur University, and one each one each from CIPET, FM University, Ravenshaw University, GIET University at Gunupur, Government College of Engineering, Keonjhar, CIFA-Bhubaneswar and Sri Sri University.
Notably, Prof Luna Samanta, head of Ravenshaw University’s zoology department, is among those recognised for their global influence in their fields.
A total of 6,239 Indian faculty have found a place in the list under the single-year category.
