Kendrapada: A six-foot-long saltwater crocodile was rescued after it got trapped in a fishing net in Rajnagar area of Odisha’s Kendrapada district on Saturday, sparking panic among locals.
According to forest officials, the crocodile was caught in a fishing net laid by a resident of Brahmanikholha village to catch fish in his agricultural land.
The man spotted the crocodile trapped in the net when he went to collect the fish on Saturday morning. He immediately informed local residents and the Forest Department about the reptile.
After receiving the information, Forest Department personnel reached the spot and safely rescued the crocodile, officials said.
The presence of the crocodile in agricultural field triggered panic among local residents.
