Bhubaneswar: As many as 63 sub-inspectors, working under Odisha police, were promoted to inspector rank. A decision in this regard was taken at the central selection committee meeting held under the chairmanship of DGP KB Singh on Tuesday.
Of the total 63 sub-inspectors, 61 belong to general category while two others are from SC and ST communities respectively.
Besides, the committee also approved promotion of a Drill ASI to Drill Inspector rank.
Central Range IG Soumendra Priyadarshi, Crime Branch IG Asit Panigrahi, IG (Personnel) Sanjay Singh and Vigilance IG Aswini Kumar Mohanty were members of the committee.
