Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s skating prodigy Anahita Mishra has once again showcased her golden streak, clinching a gold medal at the ongoing 63rd National Roller Skating Championship in Visakhapatnam.
This victory marks her 5th Gold of 2025, including 3 international and 2 national wins—bringing her career medal tally to an impressive 23.
She currently holds the World No. 6 ranking in Inline Freestyle Speed Slalom by World Skate. Her international attributes were recognised by the Federation of Roller Skates of India and she with other states international skaters were felicitated in the event.
Despite representing a state with no proper skating rink or dedicated training facility, Anahita continues to elevate Odisha on the global stage with her consistent podium finishes. Her journey is a clear reminder that Odisha has immense potential to produce outstanding skaters—if supported by the right infrastructure and opportunities.
In her message, Anahita urged the government and corporate sector to come forward and help transform Odisha into a true skating-friendly state and a national training hub. With improved facilities, she believes many more young talents from Odisha can shine just as brightly.
Anahita’s latest gold not only reinforces her exceptional form but also validates the “Pride of Odisha” title she received at the Odisha State Skating Championships at Kalinga Stadium earlier this year. She remains a tremendous source of pride for both Odisha and the nation.
