7 More Die Of COVID In Odisha, 2 From Bhubaneswar; Details Here
Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 toll in Odisha touched 8,209 on Saturday with seven more patients succumbing to the disease in the last 24 hours.
According to Health Department sources, two deaths have been reported from Bhubaneswar.
Here are the details of the deceased after an audit:
1. A 75-year-old male of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from diabetes mellitus, hypertension and benign prostatic hyperplasia.
2. A 86-year-old male of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from diabetes mellitus, scortal abscess.
3. A 79-year-old male of Jagatsinghpur district who was also suffering from diabetes mellitus.
4. A 74-year-old male of Jajpur district who was also suffering from hypertension, coronary artery disease, prolapsed intervertebral disc with radiculopathy, post percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty.
5. A 44-year-old female of Kendrapada district.
6. A 85-year-old male of Sundargarh district.
7. A 75-year-old Female of Sundargarh district who was also suffering from severe anemia, metabolic enecephalopathy, acute kidney infection.
Notably, Odisha has reported 6,325 COVID deaths during the second wave against 1,876 previous year.
There were 346 COVID deaths in the state in September. Similarly, 2,056 fatalities were registered in August, while July saw 1,903 deaths, June 1,272 and May 737, said sources in Health Department.
The second wave of the pandemic has claimed the lives of 40 children and adolescents in Odisha. As many as 13 of these deaths were reported between August 10 and 31.
