7 Urban Centres In Odisha Record Temperature Of 39 Degree Celsius Or More
Bhubaneswar: As many as 7 urban centres in Odisha recorded temperature of 39 degree Celsius or more during the last 24 hours.
According to the evening bulletin of the regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD), Titlagarh continued to be the hottest place in the state for second day with 41 degree Celsius. The town recorded 41.4 degree on Friday.
Titlagarh was followed by another western Odisha town Balangir with 40.5 degree Celsius, while Sonepur recorded 40.2, Baripada 40, Angul 39.7, Boudh 39.5 and Talcher 39 degree Celsius.
Seaside town Gopalpur in Ganjam district recorded the lowest maximum temperature of 32 degree Celsius during the period.
Twin Cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded maximum temperature of 37.2 degree and 37 degree Celsius respectively.
The Met office forecast that there will be no major change in maximum temperature (day temperature ) in the state during next 4-5 days.
Meanwhile, the well marked low pressure area over southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining south Andaman Sea persisted
over the same region on Saturday. It is likely to move nearly northwards off Andaman and Nicobar Islands, intensify into a depression by morning of Sunday and into a cyclonic storm on Monday. Thereafter, it is likely to move nearly northnortheastwards and reach near north Myanmar and southeast Bangladesh coasts.
