Berhampur: Amid the continuing surge in COVID-19 cases in Odisha’s Ganjam district, the administration has been able to contain the virus in 81 per cent of its villages.
“We salute our BDOs and their team. 81% of rural Ganjam is Green due to tireless effort and teamwork at the block level. It’s improving since last week,” tweeted Collector Vijay Amrit Kulange.
Of the 3053 villages, 2482 are under the green zone and 571 under the red zone, official sources said.
The Odisha government has defined green zone as an area with zero confirmed case till date or no confirmed case in the last 21 days.
Meanwhile, the COVID-19 tally in Ganjam crossed 4000 on Monday, with 283 new cases being detected in the last 24 hours.
