Serving, Retired Govt Employees To Help Odisha Develop As Sports Mecca
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has invited applications from both Central and State government employees as well as retired persons for engagement as coach, sports administrators and sports officials following the creation of various sports divisions.
The engagement will be made for a period of three years and can be extended by up to three years subject to a satisfactory performance.
According to a government statement, any serving government employee and those employed in railways, armed forces or in PSUs can apply for deputation with the Sports and Youth Services Department. Retired employees will be engaged on contractual basis.
They would be engaged in various sports divisions created with a vision to transform the state into a sporting mecca. The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) had adjudged Odisha as the ‘Best State for Promoting Sports’ at the India Sports Summit.
These personnel can be engaged under the sports quota or just as employees who are interested in sports and want to work for the development of sports.
The statement has, however, made no mention as to the number of employees who would be engaged by the Sports and the Youth Services Department.
Selected personnel will get an opportunity to be associated with some of the leading names in the sports industry, federations, clubs and elite players, the statement said.
Detailed information on recruitment is available on www.sportsodisha.gov.in. The deadline for submission of applications is November 18, 2019.
