Call For Inclusive Campuses At Workshop On Gender Equity In Odisha

The need to develop ‘Safe’ but ‘Enabling Campuses’ that move colleges beyond law mandated anti-sexual harassment guidelines and self-generated gender equality processes in keeping with the changing times is the need of the hour, said Dr. Meenakshi Gopinath, Director, Women in Security, Conflict Management and Peace (WISCOMP).

She was speaking at the inauguration of a three-day workshop on ‘Gender Equity and Inclusion: Transformative Pathways in Higher Education’, organised by Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) and KIIT Deemed to be University in association with WISCOMP on Tuesday. Both KISS and KIIT have been working in Gender Equity and Inclusion.

She also announced that a research chair in honour of Tibetan spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama would be set up in KISS Deemed to be University in association with WISCOMP.
