Jagatsinghpur: A man was shot dead by unidentified miscreants at Sindhol village in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur district late on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Antaryami Khuntia.
According to locals, who staged a road blockade at Sindhol Bazaar demanding compensation for the family of the deceased, a group of miscreants barged into Khuntia’s house, opened fire at him over an old enmity.
The victim’s younger brother and nephew were also injured in the incident. They were admitted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for treatment. Their condition was stated to be critical.
Tirtol police seized the body for post mortem and started investigation.
The incident is suspected to be fallout of an old enmity.
