Puri: A person was killed and four others including a woman sustained grievous injuries when the car which they were travelling in dashed against a roadside tree on Puri-Konark Marine Drive road late on Sunday night.
The deceased has been identified as Nanda Kishore Mahapatra of Saheed Nagar, Bhubaneswar.
Those injured were immediately rushed to the district headquarters hospital and later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital for better treatment.
The mishap took place at around 3 am.
All the victims hail from Bhubaneswar.
According to available information, the BMW car hit a tree after the driver lost control over its wheels due to high speed.
The victims were returning back after visiting Puri and Konark when the accident occurred, police sources informed.
