New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) appeared to be heading back to power for a second term in Delhi with the party leading in 55 of the total 70 seats and the BJP was ahead in 17 as votes for assembly elections were counted, according to Election Commission figures.

Meanwhile, the Congress looked set to score a duck in the second consecutive election in Delhi as counting of votes took place at 21 centres across the city on Tuesday.

The exit poll results for Delhi Assembly elections have predicted a clean sweep for Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP in Delhi.

If Kejriwal wins the election this year, it would be a hat-trick for his party which had managed to win 67 seats in the 2015 polls.

Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari predicted that all the exit polls will be proven wrong on Tuesday, Live Mint reported.

“All these exit polls will fail. Please save this tweet. The BJP will form the Delhi government with 48 seats. Please don’t blame Electronic Voting Machines then,” Tiwari had tweeted.

Delhi voted for the 70-member legislative Assembly on Saturday, 8 February.
