Odisha On COVID-19 Alert: Transferred Govt Employees Asked To Join Duty In 48 Hours

Bhubaneswar: Chief Spokesperson on COVID-19 Subroto Bagchi on Tuesday directed the state government employees, who had received transfer orders, to join their place of posting within 48 hours.

Action will be taken against those who fail to do so, he added.

The employees found with symptoms of novel coronavirus have been asked to leave workplace and avail home quarantine for a period of 14 days.

The government has also decided to grant commuted leave to employees aged above 50 years with specific health conditions like diabetes, respiratory problems, renal disease, heart disease and other life-threatening illness till April 4.

All construction works across the state, except those for health facilities and related to COVID-19, have been stopped and efforts are being made for home delivery of pensions and PDS to the beneficiaries, Bagchi said.

He said that no new positive case has been detected and the results of all 110 samples sent for test have been found to be negative.

Odisha has so far recorded two coronavirus positive cases.
