COVID-19 Update: 84K People Have Arrived In Odisha Till March 26

Bhubaneswar: About 84,000 people residing in other states and abroad have returned to Odisha since February following the coronavirus outbreak.

Informing the media here on Thursday, chief spokesperson on COVID-19 Subroto Bagchi said that as a precautionary measure, the state government has arranged 7276 beds at the panchayat level to keep these people in isolation for 14 days.

“As some people have come from the neighbouring states and countries that have been affected by the coronavirus, there is a possibility that some of them might have contracted COVID-19. Taking this into consideration, the state government has taken all possible measures to keep these people under observation before allowing them to return to their homes, Bagchi said.
