Odisha Fights COVID-19: BMC Declares Satya Nagar As Containment Zone
Bhubaneswar: Detection of a positive case of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) at Unit IX here with no travel history led the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Wednesday to declare Satya Nagar as a containment zone.
As directed by the BMC commissioner Prem Chandra Chaudhary, the following areas in Satya Nagar area to the north and south of Big Bazar Road have been sealed.
Satya Nagar Area to the north of Big Bazar Road
—Satya Nagar Square to Kali Temple Square
— Kali Temple Square to Patanjali Store
— Patanjali Store to Bank of India Officers Quarters
— Bank of India Officers Quarters to Satya Nagar Square via Missionary of Charity and Axis Bank
Satya Nagar area to the south of Big Bazar Road
— PWD Division-3 Office and quarters complex
The BMC commissioner said no one will be allowed to enter or leave the area. The inhabitants within the containment zone have been directed to strictly stay at home.
“All the shopping establishment will closed immediately. The supply of essentials and medical requirements will be ensured through various teams formed by BMC. Besides, all government and private Institutions located within the boundary of the containment zone have also been closed,” the BMC notification said.
The inhabitants can call the Helpline no-1929 for any complaints.
Meanwhile, the BMC has begun the sanitization of various areas in Satya Nagar.
