Balasore: Former MLA and trade union leader Arun Dey was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of the district headquarters hospital here on Tuesday evening after he complained of chest pain.
The five-time legislator had lost the 2014 from Balasore. He had contested this election as a Congress candidate after being denied ticket by the BJD. The 75-year-old had earlier won polls thrice on CPI ticket, once as an Independent and once as a Odisha Gana Parishad (OGP) candidate. He had also contested the 2009 Lok Sabha polls unsuccessfully on NCP ticket from Balasore.
