Liquor Store Fined For Rs 52K Bill In Bengaluru

Bengaluru: A day after the photograph of a liquor bill of Rs 52,841 went viral on social media, the Karnataka Excise Department filed a case against the store, Vanilla Spirit Zone for selling beyond the permissible limit.

The state permits retail sales of 2.6 litres of Indian-Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) or 18 litres of beer to a customer on a single day.

The store owner claimed that the purchase was done by eight people together but the payment was made from a single card.

Officials are trying to trace the customer as it is illegal to carry more than 2.6 litres of IMFL too.
