AICTE Ignores Odia In Vernacular Translations Of Online Courses
New Delhi: The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has decided to translate online courses taught on its platform into eight regional languages — Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Kannada, Bengali, Telugu, Gujarati and Malayalam. However, Odia is not included among the languages.
The decision was taken for the students of all engineering colleges, including IITs, NITs, and IIITs, to make them understand the courses.
In addition, AICTE plans to translate engineering courses taught in B.Tech courses into regional languages such as Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali and Assamese.
