Rayagada: A youth was arrested on Saturday after attacking a girl with knife at Kanipai village under Kalyansinghpur police station limits in Rayagada district.
The accused has been identified as Kuruma Praska.

According to police sources, Kuruma allegedly attacked the victim when she refused to accept his love proposal on Thursday. The accused later attempted to commit suicide by consuming poison. He was rescued and handed over to police.
The victim, who suffered grievous injuries in the attack, has been shifted to Berhampur for treatment, the sources added.
