Bhubaneswar: Following detection of 43 COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Friday declared Harinagar Basti (Ward No 56) in BJB Nagar here as a containment zone to contain further spread of the virus.
Containment Zone
i. From Baragada Canal to Gayatri Mandir
ii. From Gayatri Mandir to Scholar Boys Hostel
iii. From Scholar Boys Hostel to Hari Nagar Basti entrance
iv. From Harinagar Basti entrance to Baragada Canal
According to the notification, no person will be allowed the containment zone while the inhabitants have been directed to strictly stay indoors. “All shopping establishments will be closed immediately. All government and private institutions located within the boundary of the containment zone will also remain closed,” it said.

The BMC will ensure supply of essentials/medicines in the containment zones, the notification added.
