Highest Single-Day Spike Of 92 COVID-19 Cases In Odisha’s Dhenkanal; Tally Nears 300
Dhenkanal: The COVID-19 tally in Dhenkanal district touched 296 on Friday with a record 92 new cases being detected in the last 24 hours.
Among them, five are local contact cases while 87 have been reported from home quarantine.
The highest of 84 cases have been reported from Gondia block, followed by Bhuban NAC (3), Sadar Block (2), Bhuban Block(1) and Dhenkanal Municipality (1), while one is a returnee from Cuttack district.

Amid the rising COVID-19 cases, the Dhenkanal administration has decided to enforce weekend shutdown in the entire district till the end of the month as a precautionary measure.
With 138 recoveries, Dhenkanal now has 156 active cases.
