Sushant Case: Don’t Run Away If You Are Innocent, Bihar DGP Tells Rhea Chakraborty

Mumbai: Bihar Police have urged Rhea Chakraborty to come forward and clarify certain things they want to know in the Sushant Singh Rajput suicide case.

“If Rhea has not done anything wrong, then she should stop playing hide-and-seek with the police and come forward to clarify things,” said Bihar Police argued.

Bihar DGP Gupteshwar Pandey had told mediapersons on Saturday that they could not trace Rhea, the late actor’s girlfriend.

In an interview to a TV channel, Pandey further said: “Why is Rhea running away? If she is not guilty, come forward and help the police in the investigation. We are not advocates of punishing an innocent. We would like her to stand up and if she succeeds in proving herself innocent, we will not even touch her. But if she runs away from me, then I will say that we will definitely reach her one day and separate the milk from water.”

Actor Sushant was found hanging at his Bandra residence in Mumbai on June 14. Mumbai Police had been investigating the case alone. After Sushant’s father KK Singh lodged an FIR against Rhea in Patna on July 25, Bihar Police also swung into action. A team from Bihar Police is currently in Mumbai in connection with the case.

Rhea has filed an application in the Supreme Court requesting the case to be shifted from Patna to Mumbai. Sushant’s father then filed a counter-petition to keep the case in Patna. The apex court is due to hear the matter on August 5.
