Home Minister Amit Shah Confirms He Has Tested Negative For COVID-19

New Delhi: Amit Shah has tested negative for coronavirus, the Union Home Minister confirmed on his official Twitter handle on Friday. Shah had tested COVID positive earlier this month and was admitted to a Gurugram Hospital.

Expressing gratitude to God for healing him from coronavirus, the Home Minister also thanked his supporters, well-wishers and family members for praying for him. He also thanked medical practitioners and staff who treated him.

The 55-year-old Shah added that he would be remaining in home isolation for next few days.

Fellow-BJP leader and Lok Sabha MP Manoj Tiwari had tweeted on Sunday that the Home Minister had recovered and tested negative. This prompted the government to issue a clarification, stating that he was still undergoing treatment.

There were concerns over Shah’s health after testing COVID-19 positive as he has comorbidities like high diabetes. He also underwent a surgery to treat lipoma last year.
