Why Is Bollywood Silent On Kangana’s Mumbai Slur: Shiv Sena Targets Akshay Kumar
Mumbai: Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut has questioned the silence of Bollywood stars over Kangana Ranaut’s slander against Mumbai, and termed the entire episode a “conspiracy” to defame the city.
Writing in his column ‘Rokhthok’ in Shiv Sena mouthpiece ‘Saamana’, Raut particularly named Akshay Kumar to ask why actors who have earned name and fame in Mumbai are silent. “Is Mumbai only for making money,” he wrote.
He further compared the Bollywood fraternity to the Pandavas who had maintained silence while Draupadi was being disrobed, according to a report in Hindustan Times.
Commenting on the Mumbai Police’s probe into the Sushant Singh Rajput death case, Kangana had compared Mumbai with Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. This had triggered a long-drawn battle between the actress and Shiv Sena, which is an ally in the Maha Vikas Aghadi government of Maharashtra.
Kangana alleged that she had received threats from Sena leaders after her comments on Mumbai, following which she was provided Y-plus security by the Centre. The day she reached Mumbai from her hometown Manali, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation razed an allegedly illegal portion of her Mumbai office.
Kangana is scheduled to meet Maharashtra Governor BS Koshyari on Sunday before she leaves the city.
