Thousands Protest In Central London Against COVID-19 Rules
London: Thousands gathered on Saturday at London’s iconic Trafalgar Square to protest against lockdowns, mass vaccinations, mandatory wearing of face masks and other coronavirus restrictions imposed by the government to contain the spread of COVID-19.
Most protesters were seen not wearing masks. London’s Metropolitan Police had warned people to follow social distancing rules or face action.
The UK government, earlier this week, ordered a 10 pm curfew at bars and restaurants, added tougher face-covering and social-distancing measures and also increased fines for violations. Social gatherings of more than six people have been banned.

The number of COVID-19 cases in London has increased sharply in September, and this led the government to order the clamp down.
London, a city of nearly 9 million people, is under the government’s COVID-19 watchlist as an “area of concern.”
