Odisha Fisherman Nets 22-Kg Rare Ghol, Sells It At Whopping Rs 8000/Kg
Bhadrak: It was a risk he took amid inclement weather conditions and the result was a whopping Rs 1.70 lakh.
According to sources, a fisherman of Talachua area in Odisha’s Bhadrak district netted a 22-kg rare Ghol fish (locally known as Telia) while fishing in deep-sea during the low pressure-induced rain two days ago. Following the COVID-19 restrictions, he went to Chandinipal area to sell his fish instead of travelling to Kolkata.
The auction began at an initial minimum bid of Rs 6,000 per kg and reached the final call of Rs 8,000 a kg. A Mumbai-based pharmaceutical firm, finally, bought it for Rs 1.77 lakh.
