Mobile Phones Allowed For Navigation During Driving In India
New Delhi: From October 1, mobile phones can be used only for navigation while driving. Earlier, using mobile phones for any purpose during driving was illegal.
This comes as a respite for many users, especially cab drivers who regularly use mobile phone maps to find their way.
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has amended the motor vehicles act which now allows documents like driving licence, insurance and vehicle registration to be carried through apps like DigiLocker and m-parivahan. Physical copies are no longer required.
