Bhubaneswar: In order to ensure hassle-free celebration of pujas coming up in festival season, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has issued a set of guidelines to be followed.
In a notification, the BMC stated that the guidelines, meant to prevent further spread of COVID-19, are to be followed by the people as wells as the puja committees.
Following are the highlights of the SOP:
- The height of the idols should not be more than 4 feet.
- The pandal should be covered on all sides.
- Not more than 7 persons are allowed to be present on the pandal during the puja.
- Blaring music system and public announcement should be prevented.
- The committees should not arrange lottery ticket system, melody and dance programme, and other entertainment programmes near the pandals.
- The committees should ensure that the place is not crowded at any time
- The idols should be immersed in the water bodies earmarked for the committees.
