Ex-Cong MP Amar Pradhan Left Alone After Son’s Tragic Death In Jaguar Crash
Bhubaneswar: Following the tragic death of his only son Ankur in a tragic road accident on the outskirts of Cuttack in the wee hours of Saturday, senior Congress leader and former Sambalpur MP Amar Pradhan has been left alone.
Pradhan had lost his wife Mousumi on April 1, 2010, in a road accident near Jharapada on National Highway-42 while she was on the way to Athmallik after overseeing the relief work.
His 30-year-old son, whose marriage was scheduled in November this year, was on the way to his house in Bhubaneswar with his two friends—Gautam Das of Gopalpur area on the outskirts of Cuttack and Praneet Madhu Pati of Hyderabad—in a Jaguar XJ car. Moving at a high speed, the car hit a divider near a roadside dhaba at Telengapentha and fell into the canal. As the door of the car was locked, they could not come out of the vehicle.
The Sadar Police personnel on a night patrol rushed to the spot and brought the three persons out of the car and took them to the SCB Medical College where the doctors declared them as brought dead.
While condolences are pouring in for the Congress leader, there is a rush of his well-wishers and leaders to his residence at IRC Village in Nayapalli.
