Bhubaneswar: The state has all mechanisms in place to realise the vision of making Odisha an investment destination of choice, both nationally and globally, said chief minister Naveen Patnaik.

He was speaking at the MoU signing ceremony between the IPICOL and FICCI through video conference. The agreement will make FICCI the national partner of the state to support investment promotion activities for next edition of Make in Odisha.

NB Jawale, MD, IPICOL at Bhubaneswar and deputy general secretary of FICCI Arun Chawla at New Delhi signed the MoU.

Naveen said the positive policy framework, robust infrastructure, skilled human resources and result oriented administrative set up will help Odisha realise this vision. The Five-T Initiatives have brought about a change in governance and making significant contribution to the overall industrial ecosystem of the state.

With the signing of this MoU, he expressed confidence that the state will take the next leap in terms of industrial growth and development.

Highlighting the state’s superior performance as an attractive investment destination despite COVID -19, the chief minister said even during these trying times, Odisha has undertaken various investment promotion activities and leveraged digital technology to reach out to the investor community.

This is evident by the fact that the state has attracted over Rs 24,300 crore worth of new investments since February 2020. Odisha has implemented a robust single window framework to enable seamless, hassle-free and prompt investment facilitation services, he added.

Industries Minister Dibya Shankar Mishra said the previous Make in Odisha attracted investment offers of over Rs 6 lakh crore. Over 60% of these investment proposals are in various stages of implementation.

FICCI president Dr. Sangitha Reddy said Odisha has a special relationship with FICCI. The state has all the critical building blocks for success, she added.

Principal secretary, Industries Hemanta Sharma; secretary general of FICCI Dillip Chenoy; Development Commissioner Suresh Mohapatra, APC-cum-ACS RK Sharma, secretary to chief minister (5T) VK Pandian and Monica Nayar Patnaik, FICCI Odisha attended the ceremony.
