Schools In Odisha To Reopen In November!
Bhubaneswar: School and Mass Education Minister Sameer Ranjan Dash on Wednesday said that schools in Odisha will reopen in November for classes IX to XII and accordingly SOP is being prepared.
He, however, said that online classes would continue if parents decide against sending their wards to school.
On October 31, the Odisha government had asked the department to take appropriate decision on the date of re-opening of classes IX-XII, in a graded manner, after November 15 in consultation with stakeholders and issue SOP.
The Minister said he will hold discussions with collectors and district education officers in this regard. “The syllabus will not be reduced further and a new academic calendar will be prepared for the remaining 70 per cent of the syllabus,” he added.
In August, the government had pruned the syllabus for Class I to XII by 30 per cent to rationalise education in the 2020-21 academic session, which has been severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
