Keylong: Himachal Pradesh’s Keylong was the coldest place in the state after it recorded minus 7.6 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, according to Shimla’s meteorological department Centre Director Manmohan Singh.
Kalpa in Kinnaur recorded a low of minus 2.1 degrees Celsius on the same day, according to agencies.
Kufri recorded a minimum temperature of 3 degrees Celsius, followed by Dalhousie (4.8 degrees Celsius) and Manali (5 degrees Celsius), Singh said.
The state capital Shimla also experienced severe cold wave recording a temperature of 5.8 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, the Himalayan shrines of Kedarnath and Yamunotri in Uttarakhand have been closed for the winters amid heavy snowfall in the upper reaches of the state.
