COVID Outbreak: World’s Toughest Lockdown Allows Just One Member Of Family To Leave House

Sydney: South Australia started one of the world’s toughest COVID-19 lockdowns from Thursday, allowing just one member per family to leave the house.

Outdoor exercise and dog-walking have also been banned for six days, along with weddings and funerals.

Schools, universities, cafes and restaurants will remain shut during this period. Mask-wearing is mandatory and people will be allowed to step out only for essential work.

The virus which was largely contained in most parts of Australia, broke out again after a pizza delivery boy in Adelaide lied during contact tracing. Following which, police have been guarding Woodville Pizza Bar, anticipating vandalism or property damage.

In the state of Victoria, hard lockdowns have got daily cases of 700 down to zero in the last 20 days.
