Kia Motors Looks To Expand To Tier-Four Cities; Are Smaller Kias Coming?
Bhubaneswar: Riding on the success of its SUVs, Kia Motors is reportedly looking to increase its touchpoints to 300 by the year-end.
In the expansion, the company will be focussing on tier-4 towns and rural places. This is an indication that Kia might be planning to introduce entry-level cars. If rumours are to believed, the Kia Rio hatchback is in the pipeline. Expect it to share engines and drivetrains with the Hyundai i20.
It is planning to increase reach and enhance the profitability of dealers in the next 2-3 years. The company has achieved operational profitability.
Currently, Kia has three models in India – Seltos, Sonet and Carnival. The former have sold exceptionally well in India.
