Bhubaneswar: A UK-returnee has been identified in the Capital city.
Informing the media on Wednesday, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner Prem Chandra Chaudhary said the UK-returnee has been identified and as per the directive of the state government, he has been admitted to the COVID hospital and his contact tracing has started.
Assuring the city denizens not to get panicked, he said that as per the directive of the Centre, there will be a mandatory COVID-19 test for the people within 14 days of their arrival in India. If any returnee has no COVID-19 negative report, he/she has to undergo the test.
The BMC Commissioner further said that as a precautionary measure BMC has put up a kiosk at the terminal of the Biju Patnaik International Airport which will start functioning from Thursday.
