Those who have been taken any other vaccine in the last 14 days will not be given the vaccine, Panigrahi said adding vaccination of people with active symptoms of the coronavirus will be deferred for four to eight weeks.

Moreover, those who have had allergic reaction to the previous dose of the vaccine will not be given the second jab, he added.

As stated earlier by the Health Ministry, some include symptoms which people are likely to experience after the vaccination are fatigue, fever, body ache, nausea, vomiting, sweating and cold and cough.

Allaying fears and worries over the vaccination, DMET Director CBK Mohanty said it is just like repetition of other immunisation programmes being carried out since 1985. Only new thing in the drive is registration on CoWIN app. Health workers will receive messages for vaccination on their mobiles by this evening.
