Odisha Among 13 States To Innoculate More Than 50 Per Cent Healthcare Workers

Bhubaneswar: Odisha is among the 13 states in the country to have innoculated more than 50 percent or more healthcare workers against the novel coronavirus in the first phase of the world’s largest vaccination programme that began on January 16.

Having vaccinated 58 per cent healthcare workers so far, Odisha is at number six with Madhya Pradesh leading at 73.6 per cent, followed by Rajasthan at 66.8 per cent, Tripura at 65.5 per cent, Mizoram at 63.7 per cent and Lakshwadeep at 62.0 per cent, said an official statement.

Odisha is followed closely by Kerala, Haryana, Bihar, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh.

The government on Thursday announced that the second dose will be administered to healthcare workers from February 13.

As per official record, 45,93,427 beneficiaries were vaccinated till 1.30 pm on Thursday, with India being the fastest country to reach 4 million vaccinations.
