COVID-19 Vaccine: Odisha To Get 5.5 Lakh Doses This Month, Says Union Minister
Bhubaneswar: Even as the Odisha government has hot off three letters to the Centre desperately seeking adequate supply of COVID-19 vaccine to carry on its vaccination drive, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Saturday said there is no shortage of vaccines and more than 5 lakh doses will be supplied to the state this month.
Taking to his Twitter handle, Pradhan said he had talked to Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan raising concern over vaccine supply to Odisha and the latter had assured that there is no dearth of the vaccines.
Stating that Odisha government has used around 23 lakh doses of the vaccine out of 34.46 lakh doses provided to it, the Union Minister said the state will be supplied 5.5 lakh more doses on March 28.
On Friday, Additional Chief Secretary PK Mohapatra had written to the Health Ministry for supply of at least 15 days’ vaccine requirement in advance for uninterrupted inoculation drive in the state.
