These 9 Odisha Dists Have Low Vaccination Rate; Govt To Cover 2 Lakh/Day From April 1
Bhubaneswar: Taking note of COVID-19 surge in Odisha, the state government has decided to increase the daily COVID-19 vaccination to two lakh a day from April 1.
Vaccination of people above 45 will begin from this date.
Informing the media, director, Health and Family Welfare Bijay Panigrahi said that Odisha is left with 17 lakh doses of vaccine having administered 23 lakh of the total 40 lakh doses of vaccine received.
Besides, the state is scheduled to receive another 9,88,250 doses of vaccine on April 2.

Referring to the rate of vaccination, Panigrahi said it is comparatively less in Angul, Bargarh, Sundargarh, Kalahandi, Balangir, Mayurbhanj, Sonepur, Nabarangpur and Nuapada districts.
He said the vaccine wastage in Odisha at 0.2 per cent is much less compared to other states, where it is about 10 per cent.
