Mumbai: The second wave of coronavirus infection, especially in Maharashtra, has hit Bollywood hard with a number of artistes testing positive in March. There seems to be no respite in April as well, with Govinda being the latest to contract the virus.
“We got the report today only and Chichi’s (Govinda) report came positive. He is doing fine, has very mild symptoms and has quarantined at home… we are constantly in touch with the doctor who is guiding us and keeping an eye on his symptoms,” Govinda’s wife Sunit Ahuja told indianexpress.com.
“After him testing positive, we all got ourselves tested and everybody at home has tested negative, including the staff,” added Sunita, who recently recovered from an attack of coronavirus.
The 57-year-old Govinda, a Juhu resident, was last seen in the 2019 film Rangeela Raja and has appeared in several reality shows as a guest.
Superstar Akshay Kumar shared earlier in the day that he had tested positive for the virus, days after Alia Bhatt and Bappi Lahiri got infected by the virus.
