Still, they have not been affected with the virus for their self discipline. The villagers have been following the safety protocols religiously.

Likewise, Hanumala village under Lamataput block in Koraput district has not yet been affected with the virus. The tribal dominated village has more than 160 households. They are mostly dependent on farming for their livelihood.

Though the people of this village are not highly educated, they are following corona guidelines strictly. They have understood that use of mask can save them from infection. Natives of the village, including children and elderly, people have been using face mask.

Similarly, 1,500 residents of Balenga village under Koshagumuda block in Nabarangpur district have remained untouched by coronavirus so far.

Most of the villagers used to go to Andhra Pradesh in search of work. Asha and Anganwadi healthcare workers in this village organised meetings frequently to create awareness and it worked.

The residents sealed the entry point to the village and no one is allowed in. Following the guidelines, they have been trying to save their village from coronavirus.
