Kendrapada: In a remarkable example of commitment and dedication, Inspector-In-Charge (IIC) Kalandi Behera rejoined duty soon after performing his mother’s last rites.
Kalandi’s 85-year-old mother, who lived with him at Marshaghai in Kendrapara district, breathed her last after suffering a heart attack on May 21.

Kalandi knew that his presence was required at the evacuation work in low-lying areas of Kendrapada district ahead of Cyclone Yaas.
Post May 26, Kalandi got involved in rescue, restoration and road clearance work with his team.
