Koraput: Power generation in the Machhkund hydropower unit at Lamtaput in Koraput district was temporarily stopped after a fire broke out in a transformer on Thursday.
Machhkund project authorities informed that power generation was stopped from 12 pm. They said repair work was going on a war-footing.
They stated that the hydropower unit was sustaining a loss of Rs 1 lakh per hour during the power shutdown.
