Bhubaneswar: Members of forum of patents’ associations staged a mass demonstration at Lower PMG here on Saturday demanding enactment of a regulatory act to monitor the functioning of private schools in Odisha.
“Owing to the deteriorating government education system, the parents and guardians are forced to send their children to private schools for better education. These private institutions have been extracting huge amount of money from the students in the name of fees and infrastructure development. They have been harassing students mentally by defying the provisions under Right to Education act. Therefore, the government should introduce a regulatory body during the upcoming monsoon sessions of the state assembly so that functioning of private schools could be monitored,” said forum convenor Sanjukta Panigrahi.
