Know More About Ola’s Hypercharger Network & Running Cost Of Its Electric Scooter
New Delhi: Ola is building the world’s largest two-wheeler factory in Tamil Nadu, which is expected to launch on August 15. The electric scooter has created quite a buzz and the company claims to have received more than one lakh bookings.
Like Tesla, one of the pioneers of electric vehicles, Ola is also building an extensive network of fast chargers across the country. Tesla’s Supercharger network was one of the key reasons for its fast adoption.
The website says it will have more than one lakh charging points in 400 cities. The chargers will be able to add 75 km of range in just 18 minutes.
The chargers will be placed at key points in cities such as parking lots of IT parks, malls, popular places and more. As is the norm with EVs and tech companies, the whole process will be app-driven from paying for charging to finding a charging point.
The website also shows some of these charging stations to be multi-storied.
Ola has not revealed the range of their scooters. However, going by the claim that it will add 75 km of range in just 18 minutes, it can be said that the range will be more than 75 km for sure.
It is also expected that Ola will price the scooter very aggressively and might have starting prices under Rs 1 lakh.
The website shows a running cost slider that compares petrol and electric scooter yearly costs. The running cost on electricity is roughly 5 times lesser than petrol, according to it.
Ola will also be setting up an online used car sales business under the name Ola Cars. The project will begin as a pilot in Bengaluru later this month.
