107 Indians Among 168 Leave For New Delhi On Air Force Flight
Kabul: Indian Air Force’s (IAF) special repatriation flight carrying 168 passengers, including 107 Indians, is on its way to New Delhi early on Sunday.
Two other flights of Air India and IndiGo airlines also brought back Indians from Tajikistan’s capital Dushanbe and Qatar’s Doha.
External Affairs Ministry spokesperson, Arindam Bagchi tweeted pictures of the evacuation efforts.
To evacuate the stranded Indian nationals in Afghanistan, India has been allowed to operate two flights per day, news agency ANI quoted government sources as saying.
American and North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) forces which have been controlling operations of the Hamid Karzai International Airport, granted the permission after the Afghan capital was captured by the Taliban on August 15.
